Hello everybody :) .Today I will be introducing one of my favourite restaurant , D’licious Hot Pot – 别 不 同 (台 æ¹¾ 小 吃 馆 ) in Kepong,Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia. Here is a little bit about them. This restaurant is operated by a Malaysian man + Taiwanese women who is happily married and residing in Kepong. The lady boss operates this restaurant with the principle of providing authentic Taiwanese food and NOT Malaysianised Taiwanese flavour.

You will find that the menu gives you a variety of “Not in Malaysia” food. One of the things I really appreciate about their food is that, even the name of the dish may sound common, ie “crispy drum stick rice” , but I can tell you that the drum stick is really crispy. I haven’t tried any other place having a drum stick as crispy as theirs.

Let me give you a run down of some of the things I have tried:

  1. Dong Bo meat rice-东 坡 肉 饭 (8.5/10 rating) – RM 7.90
  2. Crispy chicken drum stick rice -脆 çš® 鸡 è…¿ 饭 (8/10 for crispiness, 7/10 for overall) – RM 7.90
  3. Spare Rib rice -排 骨 饭 (8/10 rating) – RM 7.90
  4. Long Chao So-龙 抄 手 (dumpling) (9/10 rating) (RM8.90)
  5. Sa Cha Hot Pot -沙 茶 火 锅 (8/10) ( RM 13.90)
  6. Ma Lat Hot Pot -麻 辣 火 锅 (BEWARE : VERY HOT) (8.5/10 rating) ( RM 13.90)

Just in case you are wondering what is Hot Pot, this is their specialty. It is sort of like the steam boat, except you don’t need a gas stove. One order is for 1-2 person, and depending on your preference on the flavour, you will find yourself deeply engaged with the plain and yet delicious taste of their mini steam boat.

One of the things I like to mention about this place is the COFFEE. Yes! Coffee freaks, please pay attention. They have got this coffee they called Cold Drip Coffee-冰 æ»´ å’– å•¡ . How is this made? The coffee bean is placed in a jar hanging on a holder so that water can be poured into the coffee beans and the coffee essence is “dripped” out from that process. Now your final serving has ice in it of course, that is why its called Cold Drip Coffee. The taste? Marvelous. I would give it 10/10 for originality (you cant find this in CoffeeBean or Starbucks) and 9/10 for taste. I am reserving one point just in case I find anything else better. :) . Best part is that it only cost RM 5.90!!!
Sorry for not taking too many photos, We were hungry. This would be the n-th times we came to this place and still find it very appealing.
