Next time, on your trip to Kuantan, take a rest in Bendera Resort, situated in a small town named Mentakab.  Mentakab is famous for river fish – ikan patin. Bendera Resort serves nice and cheap halal food. Few years ago, Jackie Chan stayed in this resort during the filming of Who Am I.
Sambal petai ikan bilis is hot and spicy, the ikan bilis is very crispy,and the petai is crispy too…(The petai is different from other as this one is petai padi-smaller and crispier).

This is Bendera Resort specialty- seafood beancurd with shredded crab meat. Yummy,mixture of seafood taste such as prawn,crab and fish.Yummy…

Sweet sour garupa fish – The gravy taste so naturally – mixture of tomatoes (not tomatoes sauce)Â and chilies.
 
Lemon chicken and mix fried vegetables.The two dishes taste normal(normal dish for Chinese), but is special for those who look for halal food.

1Mentakab, i was born there but not much memory on the food as I moved down to KL when i was 6. Maybe should go back 1 day for food exploration.

2I haven’t had a trip to Kuantan yet….if there is a chance…I think i will try and see….may be i will try Lemon chicken and mix fried vegetables…just because i don’t like spicy food….

Mentakab has changed a lot, it has become a busy small town…lots of new housing projects…must try ikan patin if you visit Mentakab.

Bendera Resort famous for tom yam also…noy too spicy…but sour…again, Mentakab is famous for fresh water fish…especially ikan patin
