Malaysia is famous of variety of kuih muih. Kuih muih can be referred as pastry or cakes or biscuits or even puddings.Malaysia’s style of kuih muih usually steamed rather than baked. It is different in texture, taste and the appearence from western pastry or cakes.The main ingredients for kuih muih are glutinious rice flour and tapioca flour.The common flavouring ingredients are santan (coconut),grated coconut, pandan (screw pine) leaves, gula melaka and also sugar.

The three musketeers – are made of tapioca flour. The first one is made of cocoa powder,the second one called bingka ubi (tapioca mixed in sweet pandan flavoured custard)and the third one is pudding with plain custard and jagung.

Angku kuih is actually a type of kuih from the Chinese  . ‘Ang’ mean red colour,’ku’ means the shape of tortoise. It is popular among Malays too.

My favourite!!! Kuih talam consist of two layers. The white one is mixture of glutinious rice,the green one is made of mixture of rice flour with santan (coconut) milk.The green colouring is made from extract of pandan (screwpine)Â leaves.
